Aftercare for your procedures I a very important step to achieve the best results.

Dermal Fillers

• Dermal fillers Please note it is normal to experience tenderness for 7 – 14 days following treatment

• Apply some ice to the area if it becomes tender or swollen

• Avoid alcohol for 24 hours before and after treatment

• Keep well hydrated (2 – 3 litres of water) for the next 3 days

• Avoid direct sunlight and wear high SPF sunscreen to prolong the duration of the fillers

• Avoid creams with alpha Hydroxy Glycolic Acid or Glycolic Acid around the area.

• If itching or swelling occurs, a general over the counter anti histamine can be taken for one week.

• Arnica tablets/cream can be used pre or post treatment

• Alcohol, smoking and the sun will reduce the life of the filler


• Pulling or scratchy sensations will disappear in approximately 5 days

• Gently clean the treated area on the same day but do not rub or massage the face for 2 weeks.

• Avoid opening the mouth too wide for 3-4 weeks (avoid dental treatment for 2 weeks if possible)

• Stringing, “pulling” pain or discomfort is normal and will subside over a 2 week period (paracetamol is recommended to reduce discomfort)

• Avoid taking any anti-inflammatory medication such as ibuprofen, because inflammation is necessary to initiate the new collagen formation process

• Avoid alcohol and anticoagulant medicine (aspirin, unless prescribed for medical indications) for 7 days

• Avoid blood thinning vitamins C & E for 7 days

• Avoid temperature extremes such as saunas or very cold climate for 10 days

• Avoid physical exercise for 7 days following treatment

• Avoid having Radio Frequency (RF) or any heat producing treatment (Laser IPL) around the thread treated areas for at least 10 weeks

Anti Wrinkle Injections

• Avoid touching the treated areas for 4hours

• Remain upright for 4 hours – do not lie down or rest head forward for long periods of time, i.e. no gardening etc.

• Avoid alcohol for 4 hours after treatments

• Slight redness will subside and any minor bruising will disappear in a few days

• Avoid exercise for 4 hours

• Avoid saunas, hot tubs and sun beds for 24 hours

• Avoid skin peels and laser treatments for 2 weeks

• Wear a high SPF sun cream to minimise sun damage

• Avoid physical exercise for 7 days following treatment

• The full effects of botulinum injectables will be seen 14 days following treatment, however noticeable differences can be seen between 7-10 days

• Recommended follow up treatment plan every 12 – 16 weeks


• Anti-inflammatory/anti-histamine medication can help

• Ice packs can soothe and help reduce swelling

• Occasional weeping will settle

• Crusts will fall off in a few days

• Clean using luke warm boiled water

• Avoid alcohol-based cleansers

• Use sunscreen if out and about

• Do not cover with plasters or occlusive dressing



• To ensure the proper healing environment, do NOT use any Alpha Hydroxy Acids, Beta Hydroxy Acid, Retinol (Vitamin     A), Vitamin C (in a low pH formula) scrubs or anything perceived as “active” skincare for one week post treatment.

• Do not use any powered cleansing brushes like Clarisonic for one week post treatment.

• Avoid intentional and direct sunlight for 72 hours.

• No tanning beds.

• Always wear sunscreen.

• Do not go swimming for at least 72 hours post-treatment.

• Do not exercise or participate in strenuous activity for the first 72 hours post-treatment. Sweating and gym environments in general are harmful and filled with bacteria, which may cause adverse reactions in your skin.
